It’s Thursday and I didn’t write my TBT last week or this one, not because I don’t want to, but because I’ve been in the middle of a couple of campaigns.
- Fairy Prom Mother!
- Hand Grenades Don’t Bounce book launch
An update on the Fairy Prom Mother –
No, I didn’t turn a pumpkin into a mustang! 🤣 (Wish I could Sam.)
But, last week I worked on TWO prom dresses and made a boutonniere.
Dress one was a simple hem – took 5 inches off the skirt.
Dress two was a modesty reconstruct – I sewed down the slit so that it wasn’t so high, hemmed it, then used the hemmed skirt to create a longer sleeve. Finally, I added lace to the back to make it less low cut.

Update on Hand Grenades Book Launch –
I’ve done the following:
- got the paperback and Kindle books ready
- started a social media campaign
- started a short advertising campaign
- added it to my website both my bio and bookstore
- And now I’m reporting my progress.

I’m reporting it here to give me both accountability and a sense of accomplishment. A while ago, I was overwhelmed and my prayers at the end of the day were all negative.
Heavenly Father, I didn’t do this, or this, or this again today.
One particularly disheartening night I realized how frustrating and what a downer my prayers had become. So I began to report my successes, even if they were few.
Heavenly Father, today I fed my children, managed a load of laundry and wrote 3 paragraphs before the family woke up and needed me.
I’ve started to do that in my planner as well. I have a “to do” list, but I also have a “I’ve done” list. That has helped me feel the worth of the small steps.
So, it you’ve read this far, THANK YOU!!! And, I invite you to think of the “I’ve done” list of your day or week. It will help you feel that push to do more because you’ve celebrated the things you have done rather than only seeing the list of “I have to do” or “I’ve not done yet”.
You’ve got this!
