The Little Drop of Rain goes through the water cycle as a drop, a puddle, a mist, and a snowflake, all the while hoping to be able to stay and play with the children. Will the Little Drop of Rain get his wish?
This was the last formal book that I produced for Waldron Publishing. The very talented Tiffini Knight (from MT Knights) wrote and illustrated the book. I did the layout and editing. It was such a fun and rewarding project. And Tiffini was an amazing collaborator. I wanted to do a series of science books similar to this one. I even began one about a ray of light for photosynthesis.
I could easily see myself doing children’s books well into the future. There was something about the visual part that was just scratching a creative itch. Maybe it was the season of life that I was in. My children were ages 8 &1/2, 5 &1/2, and newborn.
But, soon after this book launched, I decided that everything about the company was just too much at that time. See this post for more information. But, that didn’t mean that I was (or am) done writing or creating.
I am so curious, what do you create? Is there a dream of yours that you still chase? Even when it seems like it has died? So, what other iterations of creation do you work on?
