Parmesan Cheese Dinner Rolls

Yummy! So I just added a MomTipTok post. This one has tips for making frozen dinner rolls. I promised that you could find the recipe on my website. So here you go!

(These rolls were from our wedding luncheon, so they are also known as Bry & Ryss’ Wedding Luncheon Rolls)

Ingredients

36 Frozen rolls (like Rhodes rolls)

MIXTURE

  • 2 cubes melted butter ( you can use less if desired)
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese – shredded or finely grated your choice (you can use more or less, you want it a little goopy, but not a paste and not runny)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Defrost rolls on a baking sheet for 20-30 minutes. Then roll the rolls in the mixture. Allow to rise for 2-5 more hours until they are the correct size for a dinner roll. Bake on 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

ENJOY!!!

Also more tips for Thawing Frozen Rolls –

I do this when I am making orange rolls for breakfast (maybe for Christmas morning). The rolls will still need to be out for another hour or so the next morning. Much of the thawing is done.

The Refrigerator Thaw Method

  1. Spray your pan with cooking spray.
  2. Place frozen dough on your pan. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap to keep from sticking to dough while rising.
  3. Place your pan in the refrigerator overnight or all day long. …
  4. Remove the plastic wrap and bake according to package instructions.

NOTE: IF you leave them on the counter all night long, they will be WAY OVER proofed. They will rise too much. They will be too large and have too much air. They won’t taste or look as good.

This next one is a mixture between what I do and advice from the Rhodes Company page .

Speed Thaw Method – (Use with Caution)

  • Prepared the rolls as normal
  • Preheat oven to 200°F.
  • Then turn the oven off.
  • Put rolls in the oven and let thaw and rise until double in size.
  • Warning, they may look not as pretty.
  • To make them prettier – Boil 2 quarts water and put in a pan on the lowest rack. (But this makes them rise REALLY quickly, so keep an eye on them, checking every 15 -20 minutes or so. See NOTE above).
